Platov Airport became the first airport in Russia to receive 5 stars from Skytrax

Platov International Airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) has been awarded a 5-star rating following an audit conducted by experts from the reputable international rating organisation Skytrax (based in the United Kingdom). This is the first time in the history of the rating, established in 1989, that a Russian airport has received such a high distinction.

The official award ceremony for the 5-star certificate will take place on 27 March at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2019 in London, where the founder of Buro Bitus received this award.

Skytrax experts visited Platov Airport in January and, based on their assessment, concluded that the new airport in Rostov-on-Don deserves the highest possible rating.

It should be noted that Skytrax applies the most stringent standards in its evaluations, and until now only nine airports worldwide had been awarded the maximum 5-star rating. Platov International Airport has become the tenth on this list.

“Previously, no airport in Russia had received a 5-star Skytrax rating. Now the Rostov-on-Don airport stands alongside airports in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, and Munich,” said the founder of BuroBitus, Alex Bitus.
