The Regional Centre for National Cultures, Salekhard
|Service:||Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape|
The project of a cultural centre with a concert hall for 550 spectators, an ethno-theatre, a transformer hall, with halls for choreography and vocal classes.
The space-planning structure of the Culture Centre is inspired by the shape of a penzel, the traditional tambourine of Yamal. This musical instrument is associated with music, dance, singing – everything that unites the regional centre for national cultures. The symbolism of the shape of the tambourine is displayed in the formal language and colour scheme of the architecture. Five main functional areas – a concert hall, an art ethno-theatre, a multifunctional transformer hall and rooms for vocal and choreography classes – are connected by a central atrium.
